Why I wrote this
My first rental could have made me quit.
In 2002, my husband and I wanted a bigger home in New Jersey. I decided to keep our existing house and rent it out. I told him I would handle everything.
That first rental was a nightmare. But it wasn't the end of my investing story. I went on to buy rentals, attend auctions, build a buyers list and wholesale deals.
Along the way, I spent $14,000 on education that taught me very little—and $129 on a workshop that helped me get started.
This book is what I wish I'd had when I began.
